East Lake Biomedical Grand Lecture Series NO.19

Associate Professor Petur H. Petersen of the University of Iceland was invited to participate in the “Double Lake Biomedical Grand Lecture Series” on December 7, 2018. He brought a talk entitled “The Mitf transcription factor is required for intrinsic plasticity in olfactory projection neurons” to our teachers and students, introducing the latest progress of his team made in the olfactory adaptation. His report was brief and fascinating, which aroused the strong interests of the listeners. After the report, Associate Professor Petersen also had a full exchange with Prof. Yan Zhou, Prof. Yanxu Yu and Prof. Youngnam Jin, wishing to establish a further cooperation.

Associate Professor Petersen received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 2004 and did postdoctoral research at the University of Oslo in Norway from 2004 to 2007. He is currently a lifelong associate professor at the University of Iceland. He has long been engaged in neurodevelopmental and neurological disease research, who has published more than 10 research papers in journals including Nature, Nature Neuroscience.
