Abstract

STING(also known as MITA) is a central component in innate immunity against DNA virus. In this issue of Immunity, Wang et al. (2014) demonstrate that K27-linked polyubiquitination ofSTING(MITA) by the ER-associated E3 ligase AMFR is essential forSTING(MITA)-mediated signaling and innate antiviral response.
